Festival of Cultures &
Annual General Meeting


Join us for our biggest event of the year. Returned Peace Corps Volunteers from around Northern California will team up with the Ohlone Elementary School Global Awareness team to celebrate, learn and share experiences from over 100 countries at our Annual Festival of Cultures. We need volunteers for country presenations, international fashion show, cook international foods, organize cross culutral activities for kids and general volunteer help. Volunteer to Help>>

NorCal was extremely busy this last November matching speakers at a record pace. Below are the highlights.

Speakers Bureau

In November NorCal matched 16 Returned Volunteers to Schools and Community Groups across Northern California as far away as Redding and Fresno. Thanks to Marilyn Thomas in Redding and John Young in Fresno for their efforts in Bringing Peace Corps Service home. Details of matches are given below.

Nov 7 Alexander Labinov and Will Spargur coordinated a Story Telling workshop at All Saints Episcopal Church Library. The workshop was attended by 5 returned volunteers.

Athalia Markowitz interviewed and wrote story on Annika Dubrall about her service in Mauritania 2003-2005 and the challenges she faced as a women in a patriarchal society.

Kseniya Fenner (Ukraine 2011-2013) reported on Brianna Russell (Vanuatu 2008-2010) about her work in promoting women's issues in Vanuatu to Nicaragua
