NorCal PCA Annual Picnic
in Golden Gate Park
The Northern California Peace Corps Association (NorCal) is a non-profit, membership organization of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) and former staff, plus supporters and friends of Peace Corps. NorCal encompasses the geographical territory of the San Francisco and Monterey Bays and the northern coast of California and inland toward the Central Valley, where there is a separate Sacramento Valley group. Our mission is "to support a network continuing Peace Corps experiences and ideals" and we support the Third Goal of the Peace Corps "bringing the world back home."
NorCal has members from every decade of Peace Corps service from 1961 through those returning now. We have served in over 125 countries. You can join us from this web page!

NorCal has annual events such as our Annual General Meeting in February with a potluck, entertainment and board elections and our big annual picnic in the fall. There is also a Holiday Party in December.
NorCal has "member groups" in Santa Cruz/Monterey, South Bay, San Francisco, North Bay, and East Bay which have their own events - all under the NorCal umbrella.
NorCal also hosts events for recently returned PCVs.
NorCal has a quarterly newsletter for members; a monthly electronic newsletter for subscribers and several email listservs to stay in touch. Sign up online!
NorCal has an active Grants Program, which raises funds to support overseas projects such as Peace Corps Partnership and other international and domestic efforts. Your donations are welcome online or via our fund-raising events and sales.

NorCal has an elected Board of Directors to oversee its activities, programs and finances. Some are elected at large at the Annual General Meeting and the member groups elect others.
NorCal was founded in 1981 during the 20th anniversary of the Peace Corps. Prior to that, there had been an informal group of RPCVs and former VISTAs. Nor Cal is a 501c3 nonprofit, volunteer organization incorporated in California.
