7/23/13 Tue (7:00 PM - 8:30 PM)
1025 University Ave., Berkeley
Contact:Jayma Brown (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Join us at Kabana restaurant in Berkeley for a discussion of Back to Pakistan by Leslie Noyes Mass. Nearly 50 years after serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer, the author returns to Pakistan to discover a much-changed country-and a village that still remembers her. She tells both her stories as a volunteer in 1962 and today, by deftly interweaving her journal entries from 50 years ago with her current day story as a volunteer training female teachers for a Pakistani non-governmental institution.
Everyone is welcome whether an RPCV or wishing to be one, whether you have read the book or not. Very easy to get to from Downtown Berkeley BART.
