Our own Jill Hofmann, RPCV Colombia 1966-67, will present “Conflict Zones and International Humanitarian Law” at the 2022 Human Rights Day Luncheon in Carmel. Jill was only 20 when she started in the Peace Corps, the youngest volunteer at the time.
The event is the 2022 Human Rights Day Luncheon, Saturday, December 3, 2022, 11:00 – 2:00, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Monterey Peninsula, 490 Aguajito Road, Carmel, CA 93923. See the attached pdf flier for more details. Please carpool: https://www.groupcarpool.com/t/ht0aeg. You can put yourself down as offering to drive or you can say you need a ride. No one will know you need a ride if you don't ask.
There will be a Peace Corps table staffed by Craig Wandke, RPCV Honduras 1967-69 and John Bost, RPCV Sierra leone, 1967-69. We could use a couple more volunteers at the table, so if you can help, please contact Craig at 831-200-5384 or craterman@earthlink.net. Don’t forget to register for this event at https://humanrightsluncheon.eventbrite.com/. The modest $20 fee ($10 for students) covers the cost of lunch.
