We often take it for granted that we have fresh, clean water to drink. It often comes out of a faucet where we live.
RPCVs know that is not often the case in many locations around the world. The Commonwealth Club will be hosting a Clean Water Panel on October 22 at 6 PM. The information has been posted and please RSVP on the Commonwealth Club web site: https://www.commonwealthclub.org/events/2020-10-22/clean-water. It is free and donations are accepted.
Frank Price RPCV Côte d’Ivoire, NPCA East Bay Board Rep will be the moderator. The Clean Water panel consists of:
Jon Kaufman, Director of H2OpenDoors, www.H2OpenDoors.org, This is a project of Rotary clubs worldwide, and the CEO of Global Water First, a social impact investment corporation. Supported by charitable contributions in the former, and investment dollars in the latter, Jon brings together the best-in-class providers of water purification, Smart solar nanogrids and satellite internet technologies to create water & power hubs. The most impoverished villages throughout the world are mentored on creating enterprise through these unique approaches, fostering self reliance rather than continual dependence.
