Day of service in Golden Gate National Recreation Area

Join NorCalPCA and Golden Gate National Recreation Area for this year's Spring Service Event! 
 

We will be enjoying the day out in historic Fort Baker with beautiful views from nearly under the Golden Gate Bridge all the way over to Alcatraz and Angel Island. There will be two project opportunities:

1. The first is applying a fresh coat of paint (weather dependent) to Battery Yates, helping to cover graffiti and refresh the historic structure.
    
2. The second is weeding/maintaining trails, pathways, and planter boxes to improve safety and aesthetics of the site. 

Gloves, tyvek suits and tools provided. Please dress for the weather and bring a completed Volunteer Agreement, reusable water bottle, sunscreen, a hat and a snack for the work part. 

• We will be having a potluck BBQ picnic when the work is through. NorCalPCA will provide hamburgers, veggiburgers, and hotdogs with all the fixings. Please bring drinks for yourself and something to share at the picnic. Everyone is welcome to the picnic even if you can't make the service part. Tracy Neal (Slovakia 1997-1999) will be helping coordinate the event. 
   
•  We would like to ask for a couple volunteers to help lead the post BBQ as Tracy will be on duty with the park. Please let her know if you would like to be the Grill Master or help with saving the first-come first-served picnic area to set-up.

Pt. Reyes National Seashore is sorry they are unable to host us this spring due to low staffing. However, they do hope to invite us back for the Fall Service Event.
