NorCalPCA invites you to watch the Sundance Film Festival animated film winner FLEE in the comfort of your home, anytime during the 24-hour period from 3:00 pm, May 21st to 3:00 pm, May 22nd. Following the film, join us for a group discussion with our partner, Jewish Family and Community Services, whose staff will provide some background on their regional work. Our own NorCalPCA volunteer refugee support team will also give a brief update about our efforts to support a family from Afghanistan resettling in the Bay Area.
Tickets are free to everyone, but you must register above to receive the link and password to the movie. In lieu of the cost of a ticket, NorCalPCA invites viewers to consider making a $10 to $30 donation here to NorCalPCA's refugee support effort.
Our goal is to raise $2,000 to be used directly in support of NorCalPCA's refugee support efforts. Currently, we are matched with an Afghan family of 8 who arrived to the Bay Area in January. The family includes mother, father and 6 children ages 13 to 3. NorCalPCA volunteers are visiting multiple times per week to provide ESL support and transportation. The family's priorities are 1) to find employment for the father, who left a high-level professional role in Afghanistan, and 2) to acquire an automobile.
If 100 people donate $20, we will meet our goal. Please help spread the word about this opportunity to see a beautiful film and get involved.
