NorCalPCA Annual Picnic: Pine Lake Park SF

Time for NorCalPCA's annual potluck picnic at Pine Lake Park at Stern Grove in San Francisco. There are grills if you want to bring meat and beer sharing is strongly encouraged.

Also on sale will be beautiful Peace T-shirts and jackets to raise funds to help disabled children (from land mines, etc.) in S.E. Asia. Please bring cash and/or checks for purchase of the calendars, shirt and/or jackets.

Interested in the picnic, but live too far away to come as a day trip, contact Jayma and she will try to find you a place to stay with an RPCV in the area. If you live in the area and would be willing to extend hospitality to a out of town RPCV with a spare room, couch or floor where someone could stay, email Jayma Brown

NorCalPCA Celebrates Peace Corps 50th Birthday

NorCal will host a number of 50th Anniversary activities, all gearing up to a conference and celebratory gala in the early spring of 2010-- 50 years after the first volunteers went into service.

We want your involvement! We need volunteers for: logistics management, PR / marketing, communication, volunteer management, content creation and speaker outreach.

We’ve had a couple meetings already. Our last meeting, held July 13, at the Holding Company in San Francisco had RPCVs and friends come from all over the Bay Area to share ideas, on event types, venues, speakers, theme and assigning tasks as we get ready 2011. Next meeting will be in August, time and place to be announced.
